Prayers Of The Heart

The Glories of Brahman

“Thou art lord and master of Maya, man is her slave. With Maya uniting, Thou hast brought forth the universe. The source of all scriptures Thou art, and the source of all creeds. The universe is thy Maya; and Thou, great God, her lord, wherever the eye falls, there, within every form, Thou dwellest.

“One Thou art, One only. Born from many wombs, thou hast become many: unto Thee all return. Thou, Lord God, bestowest all blessings, Thou the Light, Thou the Adorable One. Whoever finds Thee finds infinite peace.

“Thou art Lord God of all gods, all the worlds rest in Thee; Thou art ruler of the beasts, two-footed, four-footed: our heart’s worship be Thine! Thou art the blissful Lord, subtler than the subtlest. In Thee alone is there peace.

“Thou, sole guardian of the universe, Thou, lord of all, in the hearts of Thy creatures Thou hidest Thyself. Gods and seers become one with Thee. Those who know Thee die not.

“Of all religions Thou art the Source. The light of Thy knowledge shining, there is nor day nor night, nor being nor non-being - Thou alone art.

“Thou alone art - Thou the Light Imperishable, Adorable; Great Glory is Thy name. No one is there beside Thee, no one equals to Thee. Invisible is Thy form, invisible to mortal eyes; the seers alone, in their purified hearts - they alone see Thee. They alone are immortal.

“Neither male nor female art Thou, nor neuter; whatsoever form thou assumest, That Thou Art.

“Thou dost pervade the universe, Thou art consciousness itself, Thou art creator of time. All-knowing Art Thou”

(Shvetashvatara Upanishad 4:9-18; 5:4-6, 10; 6:2).

Thou Art All

“Thou art the fire, Thou art the sun, Thou art the air, Thou art the moon, Thou art the starry firmament, Thou art Brahman Supreme: Thou art the waters - Thou, the creator of all.

“Thou art woman, thou art man, Thou art the youth, thou art the maiden, Thou art the old man tottering with his staff; Thou facest everywhere.

“Thou art the dark butterfly, Thou art the green parrot with red eyes, Thou art the thunder cloud, the seasons, the seas. Without beginning art thou, beyond time, beyond space. Thou art He from Whom sprang the three worlds”

(Shvetashvatara Upanishad 4:2-4).

Thoughts of Thee

“O Brahman Supreme! Formless art Thou, and yet (though the reason none knows) Thou bringest forth many forms; Thou bringest them forth, and then withdrawest them to Thyself. Fill us with thoughts of Thee!”

(Shvetashvatara Upanishad 4:1).

The Lord's Prayer by Mooji

A version of the Lord's prayer by Mooji

Beloved Father,
Who dwells within the soul of my Being
Whose name is
I Am
Veneration to your holy name
Thy kingdom is here
Thy will prevails throughout the earth
as it does in the heavenly realms of my soul
You open your hands
and satisfy the hunger of all living beings
You heal all hearts of sorrow
So that they in turn may show forgiveness
to those whose minds
are shrouded in ignorance of the Self

Beloved Mother
Who imparts to all the sense of choice
so we may finally come to choose
You
who are Truth
and thus find everlasting freedom
Glory to your name
Oh Truth
For yours is the kingdom of existence
of peace and love
All power and glory emanates from
You alone
Who imparts to all
the wisdom, the light, the love and courage
to refer to themselves as
I Am

Amen Om

A Celebration of Cosmic Renewal

From You is born all ruling will,
the power and life to do, the song that beautifies all -
from age to age it renews.

To You belongs each fertile function:
ideals, energy, glorious harmony -
during every cosmic cycle.

Out of You, the queen and the kingship -
ruling principles, the "I can"
of the cosmos ...

Out of You, the Vital Force
producing and sustaining all life,
every virtue ...

Out of You the astonishing fire,
the birthing glory, returning light and sound
to the cosmos ...

Again and again, from each universal gathering -
of creatures, nations, planets, time, and space -
to the next.

Truly - power to these statements -
may they be the ground from which all
my actions grow:
Sealed in trust and faith.

Amen!

Remembrance: The Birth of New Creation and Liberty

Don't let surface things delude us,
But free us from what holds us back
(from our true purpose).

Don't let us enter forgetfulness,
the temptation of false appearances.

(To the fraud of inner vacillation -
like a flag tossed in the wind -
alert us.)

But break the hold of unripeness,
the inner stagnation that
prevents good fruit.

(From the evil of injustice -
one green fruit and the rotten -
grant us liberty.)

Deceived neither by the outer
nor the inner - free us to
walk your path with joy.

Keep us from hoarding false wealth,
and from the inner shame of
help not given in time.

Don't let surface things delude us,
But free us from what holds us back.

Letting Go, Heartbeat by Heartbeat

Loose the cords of mistakes binding us,
as we release the strands we hold
of others' guilt.

Forgiving our hidden past, the secret shames,
as we consistently forgive
what others hide.

Lighten our load of secret debts as
we relieve others of their
need to repay.

Erase the inner marks our failures make,
just as we scrub our hearts
of others' faults.

Absorb our frustrated hopes and dreams,
as we embrace those of others
with emptiness.

Untangle the knots within
so that we can mend our hearts'
simple ties to others.

Compost our inner, stolen fruit
as we forgive others the spoils of
their trespassing.

Loose the cords of mistakes binding us,
as we release the  strands we hold
of others' guilt.
